Cannonball

April 16th, 2006 by yoshua

Still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
Still a little hard to say what’s going on

Still a little bit of your ghost, your witness
Still a little bit of your face I haven’t kissed
You step a little closer each day
That I can’t say what’s going on

Stones taught me to fly
Love,it taught me to lie
Life, it taught me to die
So it’s not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball

Still a little bit of your song in my ear
Still a little bit of your words I long to hear
You step a little closer to me
So close that I can’t see what’s going on

Stones taught me to fly
Love, it taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it’s not hard to fall
When you float like a cannon..
Stones taught me to fly
Love, it taught me to cry
So come on courage
Teach me to be shy
‘Cause it’s not hard to fall
And I don’t wanna scare her
It’s not hard to fall
And I don’t wanna lose
It’s not hard to grow
When you know that you just don’t know

Welcome to Vietnam

November 15th, 2005 by yoshua

I am posted in Vietnam since 2 month ago… Ho Chi Minh City to precise… Never cross my mind that this journey could really opened my eyes, and changed me. I learned so many new things here.. i learn to new cultures, new language, new behavior, new way to think.

I mean, in-terms of market behavior, Vietnam can be devided into 4 major behavior based on geografic. The Northern people, the people in the central, the south and the Mekong Delta. Each of them have their own characteristic.

The Northern People are more cultural and closed minded, they are too opened to new things. More political and goverment people located in the north. The Central, also more a cultural cities. The good thing is the people from the north and the central have more loyalty to brands compare to the people in the south or in mekong delta.

The people in the south are a lot more opened minded, perhaps because they had a lot of influence from America and France. You can also see from their buildings, their cafe’s their bar’s and ofcouurse the way they dress.

The south specially Ho Chi Minh City is their business city, most of the business in this country conducted here in Ho Chi Minh City. Well if you are looking for a A-B market, i think you can only find it in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for the time being…

But if you have a product for the middle low market and you can compete in terms of price, Mekong Delta should be the place you like to consider as an enter point. Coz most of them are middle low, and they are very price sensitive, they don’t have much brand loyalty.

Well in-terms of language, you can devide them into three area, the south, the central, and the north. They have different intonation, although they still speak the same language… since they have 6 intonation here, really could give you a headache!

Actually (although they don’t like to admit it) their culture is very much influenced by the Chinese tradition in a lot of things…

But i must say… this is a very interesting country! :)

HCMC

Well… I’m at HCMC now…. its not like i ever imagine before, it turns out to be a lovely city…. not like most of the people imagine before that Vietnam is a war country, well… BREAKING NEWS! : The war has ended 30 years ago! =) like my British friend said:"Its the best kept secret city in Asia" he3x…. its fill with beautiful gardens, and old buildings, specially the churchs…. there’s even one church that they called the "Notre Dame" its lovely…. the city is full with romantic places, and you can always stop by in a very cozy cafe’s almost in every corner of the city… And one thing I love about this place is its very safe, even to wonder alone at night…. probably because the social gap is not high, or probably because its a Republic Socialist Country…. anyway… its safe! =) Not mentioned that the people are very friendly and they are very welcome…. they are not fill with suspicision or hate… they are the kind of people that LOVE peace so much!

Really hope I can see the other cities in Vietnam in the near future… I heard so many beautiful things bout the other cities such as Hanoi, Hue, Dalat, Halong Bay, Mekong Delta, and so on… =)
